SimpalUK was founded in 2016 by Chris Lewis, driven by a simple belief: that no one should be cut off from the people and services that matter most — whatever the cause, whether that’s serious illness, addiction recovery, domestic abuse, or financial hardship.

What began as a small, personal effort to help people stay connected during serious illness has grown into the only UK-wide charity of its kind, entirely run by volunteers, with no government funding.

Today, SimpalUK continues to provide free SIM cards and mobile devices to anyone who needs them, with no means testing and no waiting lists, exactly as it did on day one.
