Our Services
SimpalUK is a digital inclusion charity. We provide refurbished mobile devices and connectivity support to individuals experiencing digital exclusion. We support a wide range of circumstances, including those referred to us for medical reasons, domestic abuse, and modern slavery or human trafficking.
All services are provided subject to availability of equipment and resources, and at our sole discretion. We operate in a dynamic, resource-constrained environment and make decisions in the best interests of the charity and the people we serve.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend or withdraw any aspect of our services at any time and without prior notice.
Eligibility
Our services are open to individuals who are experiencing digital exclusion and who meet the eligibility criteria applicable at the time of their application. Referrals may be made directly by the individual or by an organisation or professional acting on their behalf.
All applications are considered on their individual merits. Our decision on eligibility is final.
Applications
Each individual is entitled to make one application for support only.
By submitting an application, you confirm that the information you have provided is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. Providing false or misleading information may result in your application being refused or, if support has already been provided, may result in steps being taken to recover that support.
We may carry out reasonable checks to verify information submitted in support of an application. Where we have reasonable grounds to believe that a request is fraudulent or made in bad faith, we reserve the right to refuse it.
All applications are subject to supply and demand. Approval of your application does not guarantee immediate fulfilment. Where there is a delay, we will endeavour to keep you informed.
Equipment
All equipment provided by SimpalUK is refurbished and pre-used. It is provided without any guarantee or warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
The minimum specification of any device provided will be a 4G-capable handset with the ability to access email and WhatsApp. Individual devices may vary in storage capacity and performance. Not all devices will be compatible with all applications.
SimpalUK accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of equipment provided, or from any failure or malfunction of that equipment.
Delivery
Where equipment is sent by post or courier, we will use a reputable delivery service. However, we cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or delay in delivery once the item has been dispatched.
If you have a concern about a delivery, please contact us at chris@yoursimpal.com.
Conduct
We expect all individuals who interact with SimpalUK, including applicants, beneficiaries and their representatives, to treat our staff and volunteers with courtesy and respect.
Any abusive, threatening, discriminatory or offensive behaviour directed towards our staff or volunteers will result in the immediate cancellation of any pending application, or the withdrawal of any support in progress, with no right of further appeal.
Abusive behaviour includes, but is not limited to, verbal or written abuse (including by email or other electronic means), threats, harassment and intimidation.
Inappropriate Content
If any applicant, beneficiary or user of our website posts or sends content that we believe to be inappropriate, offensive, defamatory, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or in breach of any applicable law, we reserve the right to use the information available to us to report the matter to the relevant authorities, including law enforcement agencies, where appropriate.
Where a person is receiving support from SimpalUK at the time of any such breach, we reserve the right to withdraw that support with immediate effect.
